In recent weeks, FC Barcelona have been rather desperate to hear some kind of good news. Injuries and financial troubles have made things quite difficult for the club, and the team’s form does not help matters. Beyond just the things in Hansi Flick’s control, Barcelona have a lot of pressing issues to tend to.
The registration of their summer signings remains pending, and many injured players are still in recovery. Moreover, the renewal of the contracts of some key players is also pending and it is still unclear whether that issue will be sorted now or if the club will have to wait even longer.
In such dire times, the club truly needs some good news to bring back some sort of positive atmosphere. Fortunately for Barcelona, one of their players has brought exactly that as he returns from the Globe Soccer Awards that were held in Dubai.
As per Mundo Deportivo, 17-year-old Lamine Yamal returns from the ceremony as the winner of the Emerging player award given to the best youngster, and he also brings good news in terms of his current ankle injury that was expected to keep him sidelined for 3-4 weeks.
Now, however, in the absence of the pain from his injury, Yamal could end up joining group training dynamics soon enough. While he was in Dubai, the youngster continued his recovery plan and it is now being reported that the progress he has already made is quite positive.
Moreover, the player remains confident about making it back in time for the Spanish Super Cup clash against Athletic Club over in Saudi Arabia. There is currently a lot of optimism over his recovery speed and the report claims that he could end up cutting down his recovery time to around just three weeks after all.
For now, the €180 million-rated Barcelona star will continue to focus on things one step at a time. As he continues to add even more individual awards to his already impressive collection, his commitment to the cause of his team remains undeniable as well despite his young age.
Fortunately, if Jorge Mendes’s words are to be believed, his future at Barcelona is also something that fans can be excited about. With contract negotiations still ongoing, the words of his agent seem to guarantee that he will not be leaving the Catalan giants any time soon.
