21-year-old Spanish midfielder remains the most efficient goalscorer for Barcelona this season | OneFootball

It is important for every single player at FC Barcelona to make the most of any minutes that they are given. This is just as true for the regular starters as it is for the rotational players as well. Only by being as efficient and as effective as possible can these players deliver at their best possible level for Barcelona.

Complacency can often creep in for regular players, and that is true for almost any big club in the world. However, only the most competitive and demanding coaches can manage to bring the best out of their players and keep them consistently delivering with their highest possible output.

Interestingly, however, the most efficient player in front of goal for Hansi Flick’s Barcelona is not even a forward. Instead, it is a certain 21-year-old midfielder who has not even had too many opportunities this season to show off his true level at a consistent rate.

As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, Barça’s most efficient goalscorer this season is none other than Pablo Torre. In the 209 minutes that he has played across all competitions this season so far, with 201 minutes having come in La Liga, Torre has scored three goals already in this campaign.

That results in an average of a goal every 67 minutes, a statistic that shows just how impactful Torre has been whenever he is on the pitch. Despite this great statistic in his favor, however, the young midfielder continues to work with optimism and does not argue for more participation, as he revealed himself:

“I always want more minutes, but I’m very happy and comfortable with the team, enjoying everything I can.”

Moreover, Pablo Torre even revealed that while Hansi Flick initially told him that he was happy to have him, the German coach did inform him beforehand that his minutes could be limited this season. Despite that, Torre decided to stay with optimism:

“Flick spoke to me and said he was glad to have me, but that it would be tough for me to get minutes because of the competition within the team… I decided to stay because, over the season, a lot can happen, like injuries to teammates—which you don’t want, but they do happen—and you have to be ready.”

Ultimately, it turned out to be a decent enough decision based on his cameos so far this season. After all, his efficiency is reflected in his own belief about making the most out of his opportunities:

“You have to dig in and make the most of any minutes you get.”

At the moment, the Barcelona midfielder is training with the Under-21 Spanish National team. His goal remains to find more consistency at Barcelona this season moving forward, and based on the rather demanding calendar up ahead, he could very well end up getting more opportunities.
