Ange Postecoglou has admitted Son Heung-min faces a race against time to prove his fitness ahead of Tottenham Hotspur's trip to Manchester United on Sunday.

Son played 71 minutes of the Europa League victory over Qarabag in midweek before limping off with a hamstring injury, with Postecoglou admitting tests were needed to confirm whether the club captain was simply battling fatigue or something more serious.

While Postecoglou did his best to play down concerns about Son's condition, he confessed a final decision on the 32-year-old's involvement against United has yet to be made.

"Fair to say the boys are fairly tired, the ones who put in a shift," Postecoglou admitted. "Apart from Sonny everybody is okay and Sonny I don’t think is too bad. He wants to train [on Saturday] and we will see how it goes and make a decision from there.

"We have another day up our sleeve to give him every chance."

With Wilson Odobert and Richarlison both confirmed absentees, Spurs are hardly spoilt for choice when it comes to options out wide, but Postecoglou rebuffed claims that highly rated 17-year-old Mikey Moore is not ready to contribute.

"No, I wouldn't say that," Postecoglou stressed. "Yeah, we'll see with Sonny. Obviously with Wilson out, we're kind of limited and with Richy out because Richy can play there as well.

"We are kind of limited but Timo [Werner] and Mikey can certainly come into the frame. We have Deki Kulusevski who can play wide as well so we've got some options there, but firstly we'll see how Sonny is."
