An insight into the plans of the transfer team at La Liga giants Real Madrid for the summer window has on Saturday been provided.

The info comes courtesy of the reliable Matteo Moretto of Relevo, and points towards Los Blancos, unsurprisingly, eyeing something of a revolution at the back.

The personnel issues in Carlo Ancelotti’s defence have of course dominated the headlines in Spain over the course of the last week.

This comes after Real Madrid’s already thin defence was stretched ever further.

With Dani Carvajal and Éder Militão already sidelined long-term, the La Liga champions saw Antonio Rüdiger and the returning David Alaba condemned to fresh spells on the treatment table, too.

These developments have only served in reiterating just how badly Los Merengues are in need of fresh blood at the back.

And, as per the aforementioned Matteo Moretto, this is precisely what Florentino Pérez and co. intend to target come the summer.

As long reported in the media, Real intend to bring in Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool on a free transfer.

Another Premier League star firmly in the sights of the capital club, meanwhile, is Arsenal standout William Saliba.

And, even in the case of landing both, the Santiago Bernabéu transfer team would not be expected to stop there, also eyeing a further addition at centre-back.
