Arsenal ‘monitoring’ Real Madrid youngster ahead of the summer | OneFootball

The board at Premier League giants Arsenal have identified a member of the youth ranks at Real Madrid as a potential signing for the future.

That’s according to transfer market insider Florian Plettenberg, who points towards Victor Valdepenas as the player in question.

Valdepenas, for his part, is an 18-year-old defender, who generally operates in a central role, but is also capable of taking to the pitch at left-back.

The Spaniard has long been held in high regard behind the scenes at Valdebebas, considered a potential future first-team star in the making.

At present, Valdepenas is plying his trade with Real Madrid Castilla.

And his ongoing excellence for Los Blancos’ reserve outfit has evidently begun to pique attentions outside of his home country.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of the aforementioned Florian Plettenberg that:

‘Arsenal have added Juan Gimenez and Victor Valdepenas to their shortlist. Both players are being monitored. They are seen as potential transfer targets for the future.’
