Myles Lewis-Skelly is the latest Arsenal defender to be struck by injury.
The 18-year-old was left out of the Arsenal squad for Wednesday’s Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb.
Lewis-Skelly could not finish a training session on Tuesday afternoon due to an injury picked up against Aston Villa on Saturday.
In his absence, Oleksandr Zinchenko was handed his fourth start of the season as Riccardo Calafiori is only fit enough for the bench.
“He (Lewis-Skelly) could not finish the training session yesterday unfortunately,” said Arteta.
“He had an incident during the match against Aston Villa and he wasn’t feeling right yesterday so he could not finish the session. The same with Ricci as well, he only trained 20 minutes yesterday.
“Adapt again like we have done all season and have some freshness in the team which i think is important as well.”

Zinchenko was one of a number of players to be handed a rare chance to shine against Dinamo.
Raheem Sterling came into the team on the right flank and Jorginho was deployed to the base of midfield.
Arsenal were unable to name a full bench, though, and Arteta only had 11 substitutes instead of 12 at his disposal.
