Aston Villa take on Leicester City in a Midlands matchup at Villa Park in the Premier League this weekend.
Unai Emery’s team have been inconsistent of late and will hope to reestablish themselves as top-four contenders. Villa have won just one of their last four in the Premier League to drop to ninth in the table – six points adrift of the Champions League places. Last time out, The Villans conceded a late goal to draw 2-2 at home to Brighton.
The visitors arrive with issues of their own. Leicester have lost four consecutive Premier League games and remain mired in the bottom three. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s arrival as head coach has yet to inspire an upturn in results.
Aston Villa remain without Jhon Duran who continues to serve a suspension following his red card at Newcastle. Morgan Rogers joins the Colombian on the sidelines after picking up his fifth booking of the campaign last time out.
Ollie Watkins marked his return to the starting side with a goal and assist against Brighton and will lead the line.
Unai Emery has confirmed that Pau Torres is facing a spell out with a foot issue, so Tyrone Mings is a chance to return at centre-back.
Aston Villa predicted XI: Martinez; Konsa, Carlos, Mings, Digne; Kamara, Tielemans; Bailey, McGinn, Ramsey; Watkins.
Aston Villa host Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday 4th January 2024. Kick-off at Villa Park is 15:00 GMT.
Aston Villa vs Leicester will not be broadcast live in the UK.
