FC Barcelona beat Borussia Dortmund 4-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie and thus have one foot in the semi-finals of the competition.

While this was a memorable night for the Blaugranes, it was undoubtedly a match to forget for the visitors, who now face a gargantuan task to remain alive in the competition.

As Diario AS has reported, the BVB manager, Niko Kovac, addressed a press conference after the game, and recognized the Catalan team as one of the top teams in Europe this season.

When asked if Barcelona were the best team in the UCL, the German also named another team that is performing exceptionally well this season:

“Yes, also PSG. I’m expecting a good semifinal if they qualify, but we have to play against them.”

Kovac also praised the Barcelona attacking trident of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski, who all got on the scoresheet last night:

“They are three world-class players, and you can’t stop all three at once. We saw that today… Earlier, the Croatian coach spoke on Movistar Plus after his team was heavily beaten by Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.”

The Dortmund coach rued the last night’s defeat and admitted his team was punished for their own errors by Barcelona:

“It’s a very tough defeat. We were expecting a bit more, but we have to be fair. Barça is a great team. Today, they took advantage of all the gifts we gave them.”

Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona are set to play once again in a week’s time when they will face off for the second leg of this tie. Kovac will definitely be hoping his team can spring a surprise, but without a doubt, the chances of the Germans overcoming a 4-goal deficit are quite slim, and that too against a side as good as the Blaugrana.
