Even during ongoing seasons, FC Barcelona tends to keep an eye out for future prospects or potential targets. After all, looking ahead to the future is something that the club has been accused of not doing properly at times before. Unwilling to repeat those mistakes, Barcelona is much more careful now.
One of the ways that the club has managed to ensure that is through safely getting key players to commit to the club for the foreseeable future. Stars like Ronald Araujo, Pedri, and most recently Gavi have renewed their contracts with Barcelona for the years to come.
However, even beyond just renewals, the club is reportedly keeping an eye out for potential players that can be brought in at some point in the future. Such targets, both old and new, are players that Barcelona believes could end up being beneficial additions to the team.
One such player is AS Monaco right-back Vanderson, who is reportedly liked by Deco a lot. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian right-back is a player that Barcelona is keeping in mind for the upcoming summer transfer window and the club believes that he could be a useful asset.
With Jules Kounde naturally being a centre-back who has now adapted to his new role as a right-back, and Hector Fort hardly getting too many minutes as offers from elsewhere arrive for him, Vanderson could be a solid addition. Aged just 23, he has a long career ahead of him and he has been consistent this season as well.
The €20 million-rated fullback is seen as a viable option, even though Monaco have no intention of letting him go. Having already faced Barcelona this season as well, he was able to showcase his abilities against the Catalan club firsthand. With Deco recommending his signing as well, he is surely a player to keep an eye on.
However, with an active contract with Monaco that runs until 2028, it could be difficult for Barcelona to secure his signing. At the same time, however, the French club is reportedly more worried about potential interest from the English Premier League, considering the financial strength that the English clubs possess.
