With FC Barcelona still hoping to make a late move to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, they need to create space for his arrival by offloading a player or two.

And with Ansu Fati refusing to leave and Eric Garcia’s departure ruled out, the spotlight is now on Andreas Christensen, who is set to find it hard to get regular minutes over the second half of the season.

The 28-year-old Danish international has attracted interest from clubs like Manchester United and Juventus.

Christensen does not wish to leave

However, according to SPORT, Christensen remains firmly committed to staying at Barcelona and fulfilling his contract until 2026.

The Blaugrana would not be opposed to the departure of the former Chelsea ace, but staying at the club and succeeding continues to be his primary focus.

Christensen is confident that, despite the competition for places, whenever he has been fully fit, he has been trusted to play due to his reliability. He believes the season is long, and opportunities will arise.

If not, a decision may be made in the summer, when he will have only a year left on his contract.

A departure for Christensen would be beneficial for Barcelona, particularly if it involves a transfer fee. He has a high salary and arrived on a free transfer, meaning any potential sale would fully contribute to the salary cap.

However, the Catalans will not force the issue. The final decision will rest with the player. For now, both he and his representatives are leaning towards staying.
