As reported recently, Barcelona plan on bringing in a new right-back in the summer to provide greater cover and competition for Jules Kounde in the position.
While the Frenchman has done exceedingly well this season, the lack of alternatives has meant that Hansi Flick has barely been able to rest him – something that the manager and sporting director Deco wish to address before next season.
To that end, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona have their sights set on AS Monaco and Brazil right-back Vanderson as an option for the summer.
The 23-year-old has been on the radars of the Blaugrana for quite some time now, with director Deco being an admirer of his talents.

Having arrived from Gremio in January 2022, Vanderson is in his fourth season in Ligue 1. This term, he has played 25 matches, two more than at the same point last season.
The right-back also faced Barcelona in the opening match of the UEFA Champions League, being substituted just two minutes before the final whistle.
With a contract running until 2028, the Brazilian would be welcome to a change of scenery and to join Barça in particular.
However, a starter in the team, AS Monaco currently do not entertain the idea of selling a player valued at over €30 million.
Indeed, the Ligue 1 outfit have declared him non-transferable, and they are more concerned about interest from Premier League clubs than from Barcelona.
So, it remains to seen if the Blaugrana’s interest in Vanderson leads to something substantial in the summer transfer window.
