Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen has on Monday released a statement, denying recent claims in the media surrounding his wife’s infidelity.
The name of goalkeeper Ter Stegen has proven a prominent one in the media headlines in Spain over the course of recent days.
This comes after the German took to social media, to announce his separation from long-time partner and wife Dani.
Ter Stegen pointed towards as much as having come as a mutual decision, for the best of both parties.
In turn, it came as a surprise when reports began to surface in Spain over the last couple of days, assuring that, in fact, Ter Stegen’s separation from his wife came due to infidelity.
As alluded to above, though, on Monday, the shot-stopper has moved to reject such claims in no uncertain terms.
In a fresh post on social media, Ter Stegen took firm aim at ‘Catalunya Radio and 3Cat Group’, for what he describes as ‘false news’ spread by ‘liars’:
‘Dear all, I am shocked and disappointed of the poor management and lack of Leadership and Control at Catalunya Radio & 3Cat Group – distributing false news and violating personal rights. Journalists Juliana Canet, Roger Carandell and Marta Montaner are liars that have distributed false news, offending my wife Daniela and her reputation publicly in a very bad manner. There has not been any infidelity of Daniela. No third person involved. Fact. As communicated, Dani and I have decided to go different ways in good circumstances where we maintain trustful communication. It is completely unacceptable that the leading government owned media is spreading this, where Daniela being falsely accused and personally been attacked. The damage is irreparable. Thank you. Marc’
