Barcelona star’s new contract to feature €80m release clause | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to include a reduced release clause in the new contract being worked on for star attacker Raphinha.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Thursday provided the latest on negotiations between the parties.

Wide-man Raphinha is of course in the midst of nothing short of a sensational campaign to date.

Amid the freedom afforded to him in Hansi Flick’s free-flowing, attack-minded new system, the Brazilian has exploded into one of Barcelona’s standout performers.

All told, in 49 appearances across all competitions thus far, Raphinha has directly contributed to 53 goals.

As much has not gone at all unappreciated behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital, with Deco and co. having long been hard at work to tie the former Leeds United man down to fresh terms.

And as per Sport, should an agreement ultimately be reached between the parties, it will include a new-look release clause:

‘All parties agree that it is positive that the clause is not too high and, in this way, if at some point both consider that the time has come to separate, the approximate €80 million that should be placed as a release would be a correct figure.’
