As reported a while ago, Barcelona defensive prospect Pau Cubarsi has been called up to the Spanish national team for their upcoming fixtures against Denmark and Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League.
The 17-year-old prodigy has been called up to take the place of Pau Torres, who was forced to withdraw from the La Roja squad due to injury.
However, there are concerns following Cubarsi’s call-up as Mundo Deportivo reports that the Barcelona youngster himself is unwell and did not train with the team today.
Indeed, sources from the dressing room have informed the aforementioned outlet that Cubarsi did not train today as he was ill and was feeling dizzy and even vomiting.

Spain manager Luis de la Fuente had other options such as the in-form Barça veteran Inigo Martinez, who he could have called up to replace Torres, instead of summoning an ill Cubarsi.
Despite the situation being as it is, the La Masia gem is now expected to join the Spain camp at Las Rozas and then travel for their game against Denmark.
Whether Cubarsi will train with the Spanish national team later today or not remains to be seen.
Barcelona have three other representatives in the La Roja squad in the form of Pedri, Dani Olmo, and Marc Casado, who has earned a maiden call-up.
Lamine Yamal was also a part of the squad that was initially announced but had to withdraw due to an injury.
