Bayern Munich are drawing upon every possible resource to launch a record-shattering move for Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz this summer, according to a report in Germany.
The transfer churn surrounding Wirtz has been rumbling since last summer. After leading Leverkusen to an unbeaten top-flight title in 2024, the reigning Bundesliga Player of the Year is on course to enjoy an even more prolific campaign despite his team's inability to defend any of their collective titles.
Manchester City have long been linked with a move for Wirtz as a potential replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, with speculation only ramping up since the Belgian's enforced Etihad exit was confirmed.
Real Madrid are also thought to be interested but Bayern's entire summer has been billed as hinging on Wirtz's future. SPORT BILD report that numerous revenue sources are being explored to help the German giants free up the necessary funds to finance a blockbuster move.

Leverkusen have already made it abundantly clear that they do not want to lose Wirtz this summer. But if the prodigious 21-year-old is to leave this year, he will cost at least €150m (£128.5m). That transfer fee would surpass the record Harry Kane set when he moved to Bavaria in 2023 for €100m (£86.4m at the time).
Undeterred by the lofty figures, Bayern are prepared to commit €250m (£214m) to the acquisition of Wirtz when taking into consideration his salary and bonuses.
Bayern are set to save roughly €17m in yearly salary following the announcement of Thomas Muller's departure, although Karl-Heinz Rummenigge conceded that any deal would still be "difficult".
"It's not the market value that's important," the legendary former player who is a member of Bayern's supervisory board told AZ earlier this year, "but the amount that would ultimately have to be paid in a transfer. That will undoubtedly be difficult because Wirtz is a very sought-after player."
Nevertheless, Bayern's interest in Wirtz is obvious. "[Uli] Hoeness said that Wirtz is his dream - and that was putting it politely," Rummenigge continued. "Everyone at FC Bayern agrees that he is exactly the player we want to sign. Not to weaken Leverkusen, but to strengthen us. Wirtz is the best player in Germany."
