Big name player not going to join Chelsea after being “not quite 100 per cent any more”

One big name player is not going to be joining Chelsea this summer is the view of one expert this weekend after not being at it anymore.
The news comes off the back of Chelsea getting an essential three points on Saturday afternoon by beating Everton 1-0 at home after a fantastic first half goal from striker Nicolas Jackson ending his 2025 goal draught.
It was far from an easy game for Chelsea though, and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez became the unlikely hero and was actually the reason that they could see the win out and collect all three points, making some big second half saves to deny certain goals.
Another one of Chelsea’s best players on the pitch was defender Trevoh Chalobah and really, he was a strong candidate for man of the match too. Enzo Maresca defended Chelsea’s decision to let him go on loan in the summer after then recalling him in the winter.
And in the meantime, attention will soon turn to the summer transfer window and exactly what Chelsea will be looking to do. They have been linked with Kevin De Bruyne as a free agent this summer, but that looks hugely unlikely.
Kevin De Bruyne is unlikely to remain in the Premier League after leaving Man City despite speculation about a potential return to Chelsea.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown.
Brown told Football Insider that De Bruyne is unlikely to re-join Chelsea amid concerns about his reputation if the move didn’t got to plan.
“It all depends on where De Bruyne wants to go,” he said.
“I don’t think going to another club in the Premier League is going to be his best option.
“There’s too much at risk – it’s his reputation, the money that would be involved, and the risk that he’s just not quite 100 per cent any more.
“At 33 years old, it’s understandable that he would’ve dropped off a bit.
“So I think the best move for him would be to move on and go elsewhere.
“If he wants to keep playing in a top league, there are going to be offers for him from Germany, but if not he’s got offers from Saudi and from America.
“Those, for me, are his three best options and it will depend on where he sees himself playing.
“It will come down to his decision, whether he thinks he can still cut it at the top level, or whether he wants to make a bit more money and wind down his career.”
