Bologna’s rising star Santiago Castro thanked Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez for helping him settle into the Argentina national team.
During his latest interview via FCInterNews, Castro admitted El Toro has always been there for him.
Heavily linked with a summer move to the San Siro, Santiago Castro has been among Serie A’s revelations this season.
Indeed, the 20-year-old seized the opportunity at Renato Dall’Ara after Joshua Zirzkee’s big-money move to Manchester United.
Castro has netted eight goals from 29 league appearances, adding two more in the Coppa Italia.
Though he joined Bologna from Velez Sarsfield in January 2024, he could soon wave goodbye to Emilia-Romagna.
In addition to winning a place in the national team, Castro’s rise to stardom has earned him plenty of admirers.
With Inter ready to part with Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa, Castro has emerged as a potential target for the summer.
Making Lionel Scaloni’s squad is no small feat, especially considering Argentina’s formidable attacking potential.
However, Castro’s rip-roaring form in Serie A has convinced Scaloni to hand him a call-up this month.

Furthermore, the reigning world champions will meet Brazil and Uruguay in mouth-watering fixtures.
Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez has tried to help Castro’s adaptation go smoothly.
Indeed, El Toro has been there for the youngster, aiming to facilitate his integration into the squad.
“I am very happy to be here,” Castro admitted. “It was an unexpected call-up, but I welcomed it with great joy and shared it with my family.”
Furthermore, he admitted Martinez’s willingness to help him feel comfortable in the national team setup.
“He has helped me a lot with my adaptation, he has sent me many messages,” Castro added.
