Borussia Dortmund have confirmed defender Daniel Svensson will be out until after the international break, at the earliest, with a knee injury sustained in Tuesday's 1-1 Champions League draw with Lille.
The 23-year-old left-back suffered an inner ligament injury in a tackle and was forced off with seven minutes left at the Signal Iduna Park, and will now miss the second leg of the last 16 tie, as well as league games against Augsburg and Leipzig.
It is also likely he will miss Sweden's friendlies with Luxembourg and Northern Ireland.
Svensson has impressed since joining on loan from Nordsjælland in January, with Dortmund expected to take up their option to buy him permanently at the end of the season.
His injury could scupper that, and is a big blow to new manager Niko Kovač's attempt to rescue a desperately disappointing season for the German giants.
