Paris Saint-Germain showed interest in Dean Huijsen last summer as part of their push to reinforce the back line, but the Spanish center-back ended up joining AFC Bournemouth instead. If PSG circle back, they’ll have plenty of competition.

Even after signing Willian Pacho, PSG are expected to stay active in the market for another central defender, especially with Milan Skriniar likely to move on this summer.

According to CaughtOffside, several major clubs—Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and PSG—have been closely following the 20-year-old.

Huijsen has made a strong impression since arriving in the Premier League. He’s quickly establishing himself as one of the brightest young defenders in Europe. If PSG reignite their interest, they’ll be in for a tough fight—and a steep fee.

TEAMtalk previously reported that Liverpool are among the most serious contenders, viewing Huijsen as a long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk. Bournemouth reportedly set his release clause at £50 million.

Amid the rumors surrounding Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola addressed their potential summer exits.

“We don’t really know what’s going to happen this summer, but right now all the players are ours, and if nothing changes, they’ll still be ours next season,” Iraola said (h/t Diario AS). “So I don’t think it’s going to be any different from other summers. We have to be prepared for those situations, but not afraid of them. It’s something all clubs—especially those that aren’t at the very top level, like the elite teams—have to get used to.”

Recently, The Independent reported that the Gunners are set to compete for the signing of Huijsen. Arsenal are reportedly the latest club ready to trigger the £50 million release clause to secure the 20-year-old. Moreover, this stance means they’re joining Chelsea and Liverpool in the race.

With the summer window inching closer, it will be interesting to see which club secures the promising defender long-term.
