Wingback Carlos Augusto will start for Inter Milan in tomorrow evening’s Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Fiorentina.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Brazilian is the favourite over Nicola Zalewski to start on the left flank.

Inter take on Fiorentina in Serie A tomorrow evening. The Nerazzurri host La Viola at the San Siro.

The two teams met just a few days ago. On Thursday, it was Fiorentina who hosted Inter at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

La Viola won that match by a shock 3-0 scoreline.

This was a huge blow for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A title hopes. And it was also the first time that they’d lost a match by a three-goal margin since 2019.

Moreover, the scoreline was hardly harsh or unfair on Inter’s performance.

Therefore, there is massive pressure for Inter Milan to get some measure of revenge in the reverse fixture.

Carlos Augusto started at left-wingback in Thursday’s loss to Fiorentina.

Federico Dimarco was unable to start due to illness, although the Italian international did come on in the second half.

The Corriere report that Dimarco has yet to shake off the flu-like symptoms that have been affecting him.

Therefore, the 27-year-old will not start tomorrow.

That would leave a couple options for the left-wingback position.

One would be for Nicola Zalewski to make his first start for Inter. The Polish international joined on loan from Roma last week.
