The Hoops will face-off against Simo Valakari’s men again and will be looking to get revenge for that 1-0 sustained in Perth just a couple of short weeks ago.

The Bhoys had it all in their own hands and had a wonderful opportunity to set-up a title clinching day at Celtic Park in front of the fans – which would have been the first in some years – but failed miserably to do so. It was a poor afternoon for the team and Rodgers explained to them afterwards that performances like that were and are unacceptable when you play for a club this size.

The players seemed to have taken it on board as they demolished Derek McInnes’ Kilmarnock side the weeks after which was bittersweet for the home support inside Paradise, who witnessed some sublime football from the Irishman’s team and left us all feeling ‘what if?’, when it comes to the McDiarmid Park affair the previous weekend where we huffed and puffed for a full 90 minutes.

Celtic’s opportunity to right a wrong

However, Rodgers and his men have the opportunity to right that wrong of a few weeks back in the Scottish Premiership, by putting our name into the 2025 Scottish Cup Final. Celtic will play either Aberdeen or Hearts in this year’s finale, if they can see their way past Valakari’s dogged Saints side, after the aforementioned two do battle tomorrow afternoon at the national stadium in what should be another cracking game of football.

Meanwhile, the Celtic manager addressed how the squad is shaping up ahead of this one earlier today and said:

“Kasper is working out on the pitch, he is still not quite ready yet. Yang will come out of the sling shortly so we will see how that is. Dane Murray has had an issue. Dane was someone I was looking at for the Rangers game and playing the day before the game he had a wee moment with his knee. We are assessing that and looking at that so he will be out as well. Apart from that, everyone else is okay.”
