Paris Saint-Germain took on Stade Brestois on Saturday night in a preview of their upcoming UEFA Champions League knockout playoff tie, securing a 5-2 victory at Stade Francis Le Blé.

As the match neared its end, PSG were still leading 3-2, with Ousmane Dembélé completing his hat-trick. However, Gonçalo Ramos scored a brace to give the team some much-needed breathing room.

For his first goal, Désiré Doué kept his balance and sprinted down the right wing on a quick counter. Although it looked like he might have held the ball too long, he managed to find Ramos, who simply tapped it in.

For his second, Ramos had initially attempted to set up a teammate, but after a tackle from Brest, the ball fell back to him, and he made no mistake in scoring.

Are PSG a better team than Real Madrid?

Brest manager Éric Roy praised PSG after their contest this weekend, who sees playing much better as a unit than Real Madrid, who they faced on Matchday 8 of the UEFA Champions League.

“PSG are much better collectively. We played against Real Madrid a few days ago, where we were able to impose our game and play a bit, but in this PSG team, everyone runs, everyone attacks, and everyone defends. They are serious candidates to win the Champions League.

“[On Saturday] against PSG, we had less of the ball. And usually, when we have less of the ball, we run much more than the opponent. And I thought to myself: ‘We must have run a lot, surely more than PSG.’ Against Real Madrid, we ran 120 km, and Real Madrid ran 112 km. We had run 8 km more than Madrid. Yesterday, we ran 122.2 km, probably our best physical performance, and PSG? 122.4 km. PSG ran more than us while having more of the ball.. incredible.

“Beating PSG once in a single match is already complicated, but then in a double-legged tie, it’s even more complicated. We have to call Ethan Hunt (laughs). We are in a Mission Impossible project in trying to play and win against this PSG in the Champions League.”

The two teams will meet in the knockout playoff phase of the Champions League on February 11th and 19th.
