Brighton & Hove Albion kept their European dream alive with a thrilling 3-2 win over Premier League champions Liverpool at the AMEX Stadium.

Harvey Elliott opened the scoring in the ninth minute after a nice bit of play from Conor Bradley, grabbing his first Premier League goal of the campaign.

The hosts hit back just after the half-hour mark, with Danny Welbeck linking up with Brajan Gruda to set up a tidy finish from Yasin Ayari.

Despite Brighton dominating much of the half, the Reds went in front again just before the break when Dominik Szoboszlai’s curling effort from a quick free-kick somehow found its way past Bart Verbruggen.

The second half saw Fabian Hürzeler's side take control, and they finally drew level through substitute Kaoru Mitoma in the 69th minute.

With five minutes to play, Matt O’Riley slipped the ball through to Jack Hinshelwood, who slotted home what proved to be the winner - though it took a VAR review to confirm the goal after the flag initially went up for offside.

The Seagulls now head to Tottenham on the final day, still in with a shout of Europe, but they’ll need a few results to go their way.

Chelsea must win the UEFA Conference League final against Real Betis on 28 May, then finish at least seventh or sixth if Newcastle take seventh.
