Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan Circle Brighton’s Yasin Ayari

Brighton & Hove Albion have a proven track record of developing young talent before selling at a premium. Now, another rising star is catching the attention of European giants. According to Football Insider, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are closely monitoring Yasin Ayari, Brighton’s 21-year-old Swedish midfielder, ahead of a potential summer move.

Ayari’s Rise Under Fabian Hürzeler

Since arriving from AIK in January 2023, Ayari has steadily risen through the ranks. A loan spell in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers and Coventry City toughened him up, and under Fabian Hürzeler, he has become a key component of Brighton’s midfield.

Having featured in both defensive and attacking roles, the Sweden international has made 28 appearances across all competitions this season, registering one assist. His performances have impressed scouts, with Dortmund and Milan now looking to test Brighton’s resolve.

Brighton’s Strong Financial Position

Brighton are under no pressure to sell. The club posted a £73.3 million pre-tax profit for the 2023/24 season, largely thanks to Moises Caicedo’s £115 million sale to Chelsea. Revenue has surged to a club-record £260.9 million, further strengthening their financial standing.

Additionally, Brighton’s highest-paid director, believed to be chief executive Paul Barber, has seen his annual salary rise from £2.37 million to £3.2 million, reflecting the club’s economic growth.

A Tough Decision for Brighton

With Ayari under contract until June 2027, Brighton hold all the cards. Dortmund and Milan will have to dig deep to prise him away from the Amex Stadium. Given the Seagulls’ ambitious push for European football and FA Cup glory, they may be reluctant to part with a key squad member at a pivotal moment in their evolution.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

🔵 Excited Brighton Fan Perspective:Brighton fans should be thrilled by Ayari’s rapid development, but the interest from European giants is both flattering and worrying. It’s a testament to the club’s excellent scouting and coaching, but losing another young star could disrupt progress. If he stays, he could be crucial to Brighton’s European ambitions.

🟡 Expectant Dortmund/Milan Fan View:For Dortmund and Milan, Ayari fits their profile perfectly—young, technically gifted, and capable of thriving in a possession-based system. If either club moves quickly, they could secure a future midfield general before his price skyrockets.

🔴 Concerned Brighton Fan Perspective:While Brighton have been shrewd in the market, there’s always a worry about losing key players before fully reaping the rewards of their development. With the Seagulls building momentum, Ayari leaving could set them back at a crucial juncture.
