Carlo Ancelotti will go down in history as one of the greatest managers in football history. What he has achieved over the years, after all, is something most current coaches cannot even dream of.

With last season’s UEFA Champions League win, the Italian became the only coach in history to win the competition five times, three of which came with Real Madrid.

Further, he is the only manager in history to have won all five of Europe’s top leagues including Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga, the Premier League and Ligue 1.

Ancelotti’s second stint at Real Madrid has been very impressive, especially considering that he has conquered the UCL, La Liga, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de Espana and the UEFA Super Cup during this spell.

Despite his age and having achieved everything there is, Ancelotti does not rule out staying at Real Madrid beyond 2026 when his current contract ends.

After all, the team has flourished under his command and he has the complete faith of club president Florentino Perez who even renewed his contract without waiting for the results at the end of last season.

The Italian gaffer, with his son Davide Ancelotti and other trusted staff members including Antonio Pintus, has developed a great atmosphere at the Valdebebas and now has a solidified position at the Spanish capital.

His style of football, calm demeanour on the bench and impeccable man-management make him admired not only by players but also by the fans who support him with all their heart.

It thus remains to be seen if Ancelotti indeed continues at the club beyond 2026 or if his age leads him to limit his time at the club. As of today, however, the saga appears set to continue.
