West Ham United are preparing to travel abroad to face Southampton in the Premier League this week. In the previous game, the former side had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Brighton and will be motivated to do well on Thursday.
It will be an important game for the Hammers considering the fact they have to face the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Aston Villa in the subsequent matches. Hence, a good flow and high confidence is needed to tackle the crucial weeks.
Defence
Lukasz Fabianski was absolute beast against Brighton making impressive saves. No doubt why he is the first choice goalkeeper ahead of Alphonse Areola. Right-back Vladimir Coufal did well but might be sacrified for Emerson Palmieri.
The centre-back duo of Max Kilman and Dinos Mavropanos remain intact. However, the latter did give a silly freekick which costed a goal. No change at the left-back position as Aaron Wan-Bissaka continues to provide his services.

Midfield
Edson Alvarez is once again playing as the defensive midfielder in the side with Thomas Soucek operating alongside him.
However, Carlos Soler will miss this game as he picked his fifth yellow card of the season. His position in the midfield could be filled by Lucas Paqueta, who played on the right wing last time.
Attack
Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus are to be deployed in the offensive areas from where they can find the back of the net. Interestingly, Julen Lopetegui is likely to use Niclas Fullkrug as the striker as the player was impressive coming off the bench last week.
Michail Antonio (car accident), Jean-Clair Todibo (groin) and Carlos Soler (suspension) are unavailable for the Hammers.
