Celta Vigo dealt last-minute injury blow before Real Sociedad | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have on Friday been dealt a blow on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that youngster Hugo Sotelo will not be available for selection for the club’s final outing leading into the festive break.

Celta are primed to see out their fixture list for 2024 on Saturday afternoon, when they welcome Real Sociedad to Balaídos, for a La Liga clash.

Claudio Giráldez’s side will head into proceedings eyeing a bounce-back result, after being condemned to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Sevilla last time out.

In efforts towards as much, however, the Celestes will be forced to make do without the contributions of the aforementioned Hugo Sotelo.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Under-21 international Hugo Sotelo is out at the last minute for Celta’s match tomorrow, Saturday, against Real Sociedad due to a bruise on his right knee, which he sustained in training this morning.’

The midfielder, who has notched 12 La Liga appearances to date this season, joins teammates Javier Manquillo, Jailson Marques and Mihailo Ristić on the sidelines.
