Celtic are due to host Dundee at Celtic Park tomorrow afternoon; however, there have been some concerns that Storm Éowyn and the associated Red Weather Warning could impact whether the game went ahead.

The Scottish Champions posted an update to the club’s website on Friday afternoon but were unable to confirm the status of the game.

“Unfortunately today’s severe weather conditions have caused some damage at Celtic Park.

“Our stadium and safety staff are currently unable to fully assess the extent of the damage due to the ongoing extreme conditions.

“In light of this and in order that we communicate fully and openly with our fans, in the interests of supporter safety, we are unable to confirm at this stage whether the match tomorrow between Celtic and Dundee (Jan 25) will be able to proceed.

“Of course, we will be doing all we can to ensure that it does.

“A full assessment and decision will be made as early as possible tomorrow morning (Saturday) and we will update our supporters as soon as we can.

“We thank our supporters sincerely for their understanding.”

The club will be keen to get an early update for supporters given the amount of fans that travel from across the country and beyond to Celtic Park.

Brendan Rodgers’ media conference from Lennoxtown was done virtually given the weather conditions but the team trained as normal in anticipation of the game going ahead. The club will be working tirelessly when the weather clears to ensure that the game can take place.
