Following his impressive display against Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Wednesday evening, the Celtic legend has now been given the privilege of presenting the trophy to his teammates after the final whistle.

Forrest has been selected to hand the trophy to skipper Callum McGregor, while manager Brendan Rodgers is set to position it on the plinth along the Celtic Way ahead of Saturday’s fixture against St Mirren.

Last season, the responsibility was shared by Rodgers and Calmac, while in 2022/2023 campaign former manager Martin O’Neill upheld the tradition after Ange Postecoglou secured his second league title with the club.

The club is set for a day of celebrations after clinching their 55th league championship this season. While the squad looks forward to partying post-match, their focus will soon shift to the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen, scheduled for next Saturday at Hampden.

The previous encounter between the Hoops and Jimmy Thelin’s side at the national stadium saw Celtic dominate Aberdeen 6-0, courtesy of a hat-trick from Scottish Premiership’s 2024/2025 Player of the Year Daizen Maeda.

In their most recent meeting on Wednesday night, a rotated Celtic starting eleven secured a 5-1 victory over the Dons, with goals coming from Maik Nawrocki, Yang Hyun-jun, Luke McCowan, Johnny Kenny, and Adam Idah.

This Saturday, supporters will be desperate to see Forrest net his first goal of the season, which would extend his remarkable streak to 16 consecutive campaigns with at least one goal for the club since his debut against Motherwell in 2010. The iconic winger has yet to find the back of the net in any of his 31 appearances this season.

A goal tomorrow or in the Scottish Cup final will equal the record held by none other that The Maestro himself Paul McStay and Jamesy has one more year at least to go so could easily beat it next season,
