Celtic face Motherwell this afternoon at Fir Park in the Scottish Premiership. Brendan Rodgers’ side haven’t played in the league since the 3-3 draw against Dundee in the middle of January but will be keen to get all three points on their trip to North Lanarkshire.
Cameron Carter-Vickers returns to the team having missed the last UCL game against Aston Villa during the week. Daizen Maeda has returned after serving one game of his two match European suspension and Jota is in contention to make his second debut.
Kasper Schmeichel missed training but the Great Dane will start between the sticks tomorrow. Brendan explained that the Celtic goalkeeper had been given an extra day off to recovery given his advancing years.
Cameron Carter-Vickers missed the game during the week but is available for selection and you would expect him to return to the starting XI beside Auston Trusty. Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor will likely continue at full back. Tony Ralston may have to play his part to ensure AJ can get a rest if required.
Callum McGregor will start in the midfield and Reo Hatate and Arne Engels will be most likely to start but Luke McCowan and Paulo Bernardo will be in contention to start.
In attack, Nicolas Kühn and Daizen Maeda will start on the flanks with Adam Idah through the middle. Supporters will be keen to see Jota make his second debut for Celtic after returning from Rennes. Johnny Kenny will supplement his countryman Idah as the club chase a Kyogo replacement in the transfer market.
Predicted XI: Schmeichel; Taylor, Trusty, CCV, Johnston; McGregor, Hatate, Engels; Maeda, Idah, Kühn.
