Chelsea host Bournemouth in the Premier League on Tuesday as both teams continue the chase for European football.
After four games without a win in the Premier League, Chelsea bounced back to thrash fourth-tier Morecambe in the FA Cup at the weekend. Tosin Adarabioyo and Joao Felix each scored twice as the Blues made light work of their League Two opponents.
Attention now turns back to the Premier League, as Chelsea cling on to a place in the top four. Their winless run has allowed Newcastle and Manchester City to move within reach of them in the race for Champions League qualification.
Tuesday’s opponents, Bournemouth, are also in the mix for European football. A win for the Cherries at Stamford Bridge would take them level on points with Enzo Maresca’s side. However, the Cherries are lacking a senior centre-forward after injuries to Evanilson and Enes Unal.
Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Reece James and Romeo Lavia are available to feature from the start on Tuesday. The duo made their respective returns from injury against Morecambe and are in contention for the clash with the Cherries.
Renato Veiga is unlikely to feature after expressing interest in an exit this month, while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s expected exit is also set to see him excluded.
Wesley Fofana (hamstring), Benoit Badiashile (thigh), Mykhaylo Mudryk (suspended) are all confirmed out. Noni Madueke will be assessed after missing the Morecambe game through illness.
Chelsea predicted XI: Sanchez; Gusto, Tosin, Colwill, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Felix, Palmer, Neto; Jackson.
Chelsea host Bournemouth in the Premier League on Tuesday 14th January 2025. Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is 19:30 GMT.
The game will be shown live in the UK by TNT Sports.
