Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur has produced countless thrillers throughout the fixture's storied and fiery history, with another potentially in store on Thursday night.

The two London rivals have been embroiled in some feisty affairs in recent memory and goals have never been in short supply. There have been 29 across the last ten duels and the upcoming Premier League battle at Stamford Bridge should serve up a fair few more.

Chelsea continue their push for the top four when they host Tottenham, who are simply looking to ruin the party given they have little else to play for during the remainder of the Premier League season. Recent history suggests they will find it difficult to upset the odds at Stamford Bridge, though.

Ahead of Thursday's duel, here's a reminder of the last five meetings between Chelsea and Spurs.

Momentum is everything in football. The early flow of last December's seven-goal stunner favoured hosts Spurs after two Marc Cucurella slips were punished by ex-Chelsea star Dominic Solanke and Tottenham's 2024/25 talisman Dejan Kulusevski, but Jadon Sancho's exquisite strike cut the deficit and filled the travelling Blues with confidence.

Chelsea's persistence paid off after the break as Enzo Fernandez's powerful drive was sandwiched between two Cole Palmer penalties - the second of which was a cheeky Panenka. Clumsy fouls from Tottenham's two holding midfielders proved costly, with Son Heung-min's 96th-minute strike proving nothing more than a consolation.

Chelsea were unable to secure Champions League football last season under former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, but at least they dealt an enormous blow to Tottenham's ultimately unsuccessful push for the top four.

Trevoh Chalobah's expert header gave the Blues a deserved advantage midway through the first half and Nicolas Jackson was also on target with his noggin in the second half, following up from Cole Palmer's thumping free kick which smashed off the crossbar.

Ange Postecoglou refuses to compromise his football principles no matter the circumstances, something evidenced in Spurs' 4-1 defeat to Chelsea last season. Having taken an early lead through Kulusevski, it was a lack of discipline that allowed the Blues to turn the game on its head.

Cristian Romero's lunge in the build-up to Moises Caicedo's offside goal was punished with a red card and Chelsea penalty, which Palmer converted with ease to level proceedings before the break. Destiny Udogie was then dismissed after the restart as Spurs were reduced to nine men and imploded in the closing stages.

Tottenham continued to play a ludicrously high line and were emphatically punished by Nicolas Jackson, who ended the clash with the match ball after scoring a quick-fire hat-trick - two of which came in stoppage time.

Tottenham have only beaten Chelsea once in 90 minutes across the last 16 derbies between the sides and Graham Potter is the unfortunate Blues boss who suffered that defeat. In fairness, few would have expected Oliver Skipp to produce a 25-yard screamer as he scored his first and only Spurs goal.

Harry Kane doubled the advantage in the dying embers as he converted at the back post from a corner, earning Tottenham a confidence-boosting victory and condemning the Blues to an underwhelming loss.

Kane was a regular scorer against Chelsea despite Tottenham's struggles in this fixture and the England skipper left it staggeringly late to upset the Stamford Brige faithful in the first meeting of the 2022/23 season.

Spurs twice came from behind following efforts from Kalidou Koulibaly and Reece James, with Kane producing the decisive equaliser in the 96th minute to spark jubilation in the away end.

The drama didn't end with the final whistle as Thomas Tuchel and former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte clashed on the touchline with a handshake that swiftly turned into a skirmish.
