Chelsea’s nonsense briefing claims success of Women’s team but top source calls fake news

It’s a Chelsea match day and out come the big nonsense briefings again by the media clearly given to them by the club as they always do.
If Chelsea fail to win tonight, expect it to get MUCH more toxic after these latest briefings, especially off the back of defeat in their last game as well.
The Blues lost 2-1 against Aston Villa on Saturday evening after being 1-0 up inside the first 20 minutes. I think Chelsea fans would have just expected even at that point, that their side were still going to lose this game, and they did.
Yet another horror goalkeeper error from Chelsea saw Villa grab the winning goal near the end of the game, but we all saw it coming.
Chelsea could not score and were really terrible. Even Cole Palmer was terrible, and he was seen trying to blame others for a bad pass that HE himself made. This just about sums everything up right now.
The home match against Southampton has just become HUGE!
Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley at Stamford Bridge.
Via The Athletic, Chelsea are claiming that sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart led the process which resulted in Sonia Bompastor being appointed as Chelsea Women’s head coach, as well as overseeing the recruitment of Keira Walsh and Naomi Girma in pursuit of sustained Women’s Super League dominance and maiden UEFA Women’s CL glory.
However, the most trusted Chelsea Women’s source I know, Rob Pratley, has basically rubbished this as lies.
He said:
‘Having been asked a few times on this now: – ‘Led the process’ is very generous; they were involved but it was collaborative between multiple people – On Girma: they had a level of involvement in terms of getting updates & some legal finalising. – On Walsh: not to my knowledge.’
I believe him much more than I do any briefings from the media.
