Confirmed: Barcelona will not return to Spotify Camp Nou this season | OneFootball

FC Barcelona have informed their season ticket holders at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys that their passes will be extended until the end of the season, pretty much confirming that the return to Spotify Camp Nou will not take place until the next campaign.

The club sent an email to ticket holders at Montjuic, explaining that they can extend their season passes until the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.

“We inform you that the extension of the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys 24/25 pass will now include all remaining matches of the men’s first team in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League until the end of the 2024/25 season,” the club’s email stated.

“If you wish to extend your pass for these additional matches, you can do so via the following link.”

While the return to Spotify Camp Nou has not been officially ruled out, this announcement suggests that the team will continue playing at Montjuic for the remainder of the season.

This development comes on the back of reports earlier this week confirming that an agreement had been signed by the Blaugrana and the Barcelona City Council for the club to continue using the Montjuic Stadium until May 20.

Barcelona had plans to return to Spotify Camp Nou towards the end of 2024, but delays in the construction work kept pushing the deadline forward.

There had been some hope that the team could return to their traditional home ground in time for the La Liga El Clasico in May as well as the potential UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

However, with the club’s email now notifying season ticket holders about the extension of their passes for the rest of the games, it would be fair to assume that a return to Camp Nou will not materialise this term despite there not being an official confirmation.

It remains to be seen whether things are in good enough shape for Barcelona to start the next season at Spotify Camp Nou or whether there are more delays.
