Tyler Fredricson impressed on his debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers last week with coaches raving about his footballing IQ. But he misses out.

Harry Amass is another Carrington graduate who had impressed but misses out.

With Diogo Dalot potentially ruled out for the rest of the season, Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu starts again.

The ever-reliable Noussair Mazraoui and Leny Yoro also start the game.

Andre Onana remains in goal.

In midfield, Casemiro returns to start in the defensive midfield position alongside Kobbie Mainoo.

Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes start on either side of the striker, Rasmus Hojlund.

Still not getting a start is Mason Mount.

Given the season-defining clash against Athletic Bilbao coming up, the head coach was thought to be picking a weakened side keeping the midweek game.

But he has instead chosen to go strong as he had hinted at the pre-match press conference. Hopefully, a win and no more injuries on the cards.
