Eddie Howe has been in talks with Newcastle United Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan.
The Saudi Arabia PIF Governor flew into Newcastle ahead of Sunday’s match with Nottingham Forest.
Following that victory, talks have taken place involving the employed Newcastle United hierarchy and the Newcastle United owners.
On the agenda, was the final recommendation to the Newcastle United owners on stadium plans, with senior staff having been tasked with exploring whether a brand new state of the art Newcastle United should be built next to the current ground, or whether St James’ Park should be redeveloped as best it can be. Following Monday’s talks at a Northumberland hotel, it has been widely reported that the Newcastle United owners have been recommended to build a brand new stadium that will have an overlapping footstep on the current SJP site, with a near 70,000 capacity and costing up to an estimated £1.5billion to build. No official confirmation yet though on what the Newcastle United owners are going to do, having now been given this recommendation.
However, it wasn’t only the stadium plans that were on Monday’s agenda.
Eddie Howe revealing that he was involved in a number of the meetings on Monday, saying he had various conversations with Yasir Al-Rumayyan and others.

Eddie Howe has held talks with Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan, now speaking to Sky Sports about those conversations:
“I had various conversations with him.
“I always take heart from seeing him and talking with him because you can see his passion for Newcastle and you see how much he directly cares about everything that’s going on here.
“He was in good spirits and enjoyed seeing us win [against Forest].
“A lot was discussed at the meetings.
“I was in some of them.
“I can’t say anything [about what was said] but I was very pleased that the ambition and drive to be successful is still very much there from everyone connected to the club.
“We need to drastically improve everything we are delivering, if we are going to catch the teams above us.
“And that goes right across the board in every department of the football club.
“We have so much to do to get to the top.
“It’s not going to happen just by thinking it, or willing it, we have to deliver it.
“That takes investment, smart thinking, strategic thinking, and we need to implement it.
“We have taken a bit of a hit [in the last three transfer windows] in terms of taking the team forward, but it’s nobody’s fault.
“We know that we want to take the team forward again and have ideas to do it.
“Can we compete financially with the top clubs?
“In the future we can, but a set date we don’t know, we can get there with bright thinking, ideas and willingness.
