Eintracht Frankfurt sign Elye Wahi | OneFootball

The France U23 international has moved to the Eagles from Olympique Marseille with immediate effect after agreeing a contract until 2030.

Elye Wahi was born in 2003 in Courcouronnes, on the outskirts of Paris, and began his footballing journey in the SM Caen youth ranks. He made his professional debut for Montpellier HSC in December 2020, just a few days before his 18th birthday. Wahi registered 32 goals and nine assists in 92 competitive outings for the club, and was among the top scorers in France in 2022/23 with 19 goals and six assists. That earned the forward a move to RC Lens, where he continued to demonstrate his qualities with 12 goals and four assists in 36 competitive games. In summer 2024 the 22-year-old moved to Olympique Marseille, where he contributed three goals and one assist in 13 Ligue 1 outings. Eintracht will be Wahi’s first spell playing abroad and he joins an attack including compatriot Hugo Ekitiké. He will wear the number 17 jersey for the Eagles.

He brings with him plenty of top-level experience, having featured in both the UEFA Champions League and Europa League for Lens, scoring three times in eight games overall. Wahi has also represented France at every youth level since the U16s and made his debut in coach Thierry Henry’s U23 side in March 2024. Board member for sport Markus Krösche: “We’ve been looking at Elye Wahi for some time and we are delighted that he’ll be playing for Eintracht Frankfurt now. Elye is a pacey striker who is good in the box and has a superb eye for goal. He is a young player with the potential to develop and we are confident in his qualities. At the same time, we will give him all the time he needs to adapt.”
