This Sunday marks the end of a busy week for the Ghirls as they round off the first round of 10 post-split fixtures.

Travelling to face Motherwell, the Hoops will make the visit to K-Park, looking to get back to winning ways following Wednesday evening’s draw.

That result means it has been back-to-back draws for Elena Sadiku’s side, who have been on a tough run of form in recent weeks.

And speaking to the media ahead of Sunday’s trip to K-Park, the Celtic boss insists that she and her players know that the recent form hasn’t been up to scratch.

But, ahead of this weekend’s match, Sadiku believes that the response in training has been positive, and she is hoping to see that against Motherwell.

She said: “It’s going to start on Sunday. We had a meeting today, just saying this has not been good enough.

“This is not Celtic, and it is not close enough to Celtic standards. Our training today (Friday) was really good.

“The intensity good, and the quality was really good. We all know that it isn’t good enough and we want to change that very fast.”

“The players all know the patterns, they know exactly what to do because they did that today during the session without us coaching.

“It’s about doing it in training and in games. That needs to be their responsibility in terms of making sure we do the right thing on the pitch during games.

'I’m very confident that this is something we will fix on Sunday, because it hasn’t been good enough.'

“Offensively, we have five shots and zero on target in our last game. That was nowhere near close. That needs to change against Motherwell.”

With another three points up for grabs, the Celtic boss is expecting another tough outing in the Hoops’ fifth post-slit fixture.

Sadiku is well aware of the threats this Motherwell side pose. However, she is only focused on what her side can produce.

The 31-year-old praised the fans for their continued support as she insisted the Ghirls will be looking to do all they can to deliver three points for the Celtic support.

She said: “Motherwell is a team who works really hard together. They try to punish teams by defending really strong and then go into transitions.

“So that is something that we are going to expect. For me, mostly the expectation is on us.

“The quality that was missing against Hibs, we need to see it on Sunday. But the effort needs to be the same, in terms of working really hard to not concede.

“But the quality needs to be better in the final third. That is something I am looking forward to seeing.”

“We really appreciate the support of the fans,” Sadiku continued. “We have the best fans. Obviously, it is very frustrating that we can’t give them more.

'They deserve more. But I know that we as a team are going to do everything, we can to make sure that we get the three points.'

“Hopefully, we can get some nice goals, so that we can celebrate those and make sure that the fans get something back. “
