The Etihad Player of the Month vote for January is now open.

The first month of 2025 proved a far happier period for City, with five wins, one draw and one loss.

And the goals flew in!

There were 37 goals scored in total, 28 for City and nine for our opponents.

There were also many candidates for our player of the month.

Here are our three nominees for January...

Phil Foden

What a month for Foden.

Our homegrown playmaker recently admitted that a mixture of illness, niggling injuries and fatigue had affected his contribution for the Blues in the first part of the campaign.

But, judging from his displays in January, he is very much back to his best.

Foden scored six goals and was credited with two assists, with several stellar displays along the way.

His two goals away to Brentford and Ipswich Town were evidence of his return to top form and he is deservedly one of our three nominees this month,

Erling Haaland

Our top scorer this campaign – no shocks there – enjoyed a hugely productive January.

Fresh from penning a contract extension equating to 10 years in total, Haaland has looked somewhere near his very best in recent games.

His five goals and one assist doesn’t perhaps reflect his tireless efforts throughout January - though it is impressive enough.

Undoubtedly, his power and strength were the main factors behind our 3-1 win over Chelsea, and he was also on target against PSG, Ipswich as well as grabbing a brace against West Ham United.

Another strong contender.

Kevin De Bruyne

Completing our trio of nominees is Kevin De Bruyne.

The Belgian playmaker has been superb in January, with his four assists just the tip of the iceberg in terms of his contribution.

As always, a KDB in full flow is a majestic sight, and with his abdominal strain – that restricted him so much for a number of months - finally seeming to have eased, our skipper has turned consistently strong displays.
