Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij has won praise for putting in a “professorial” display at the back against AC Milan.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, hail the Dutchman’s composed penalty area defending. They also praise Joaquin Correa for a tidy performance.
Stefan de Vrij got the nod in the Inter starting eleven yesterday. He started in the centre of the Nerazzurri’s back three, ahead of Francesco Acerbi.
And the veteran former Lazio and Feyenoord defender proved to be more than up to the task.
De Vrij had the task of marking former Roma and Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.
And it was an assignment that the 33-year-old proved more than equal to.

Tammy Abraham did get on the scoresheet at the start of the second half yesterday.
However, in truth defender Yann Bisseck was the one who was primarily culpable for losing the Englishman’s run.
Beyond that, Stefan de Vrij marshalled the Inter penalty area well.
Meanwhile, at the other end, de Vrij even had a couple good chances with his head.
Then, Tuttosport also hail Joaquin Correa for his performance.
The 30-year-old had not impressed with his substitute appearance against Udinese last weekend. However, he looked far more assured yesterday.
And Correa even grabbed the assist for Hakan Calhanoglu’s equalizer.
