A number of Championship clubs have joined the race for Liverpool hotshot Jayden Danns, Football League World has learned
A whole host of Championship suitors have entered the race to strike a loan agreement for Liverpool forward Jayden Danns, Football League World can exclusively reveal.
The 19-year-old is shaping up to be something of a hot property in the January transfer window, with interest in his services accelerating over the last few days in particular.
Last year, Danns enjoyed a blistering breakthrough into the Liverpool first-team under iconic boss Jürgen Klopp, making five appearances and scoring his first goals for the club in a 3-0 FA Cup fifth-round victory over Southampton.
Danns has remained on the fringes following the summer appointment of Arne Slot, who has used the talented forward on two occasions this term. The Reds academy product opened his account for the current campaign by finding the back of the net in Liverpool's recent FA Cup win at home to Accrington Stanley.
Multiple sides towards the bottom end of the Championship will be looking to utilise the top-flight loan market as they bid to acquire short-term fixes to ensure survival come the season's conclusion.
Now, sources close to FLW can confirm that up to five teams in the division have joined the race for Danns in Hull, Preston, Blackburn, Stoke and Oxford. This, however, is on the condition that Liverpool allow him to leave Anfield this month in search of regular playing time, with the Premier League leaders' stance on a short-term exit seemingly not yet decided.
FLW can disclose Danns' latest suitors after recently revealing both Derby County and Millwall had sent scouts to watch the teenage prospect as his Liverpool under-21 side were beaten 3-1 by Sparta Prague in a Premier League International Cup fixture on Wednesday evening, in which he scored.
According to Darren Witcoop, at the start of the window, relegation-threatened duo Cardiff City and Plymouth Argyle had both fielded enquiries over Danns.
Championship interest in Danns' services is nothing new, as the young forward was reportedly poised to join the Pilgrims last summer.
Plymouth, who were managed by Wayne Rooney at the time, were described as being "at the front of the queue" if Liverpool decided to sanction a loan exit in a report by TEAMtalk. However, a back injury meant Danns was not able to complete a move to Home Park or anywhere else.
Plymouth are currently bottom of the Championship and are among a number of teams struggling at the wrong-end of the table who could really benefit from striking an agreement for Danns this month.
