Exclusive says Chelsea want “Rolls Royce” starlet whose value has exploded

Sami Mokbel has just dropped an exclusive for the Daily Mail which is all about Bournemouth

His focus is on manger Andoni Iraola, who has transformed the Cherries into one of Europe’s most exciting teams with his high pressing style making them the envy of the league. Tottenham are apparently keen to brin the Basque in as coach, and they’re unlikely to be the only major team interested if his success continues.

But it’s not just the coach who is in demand. Mokbel reports that there are clubs looking at their best players, including Chelsea:

“[Bournemouth’s] Rolls Royce centre back Dean Huijsen is on the radar of England’s biggest clubs – Chelsea among the teams interested. Winger Antoine Semenyo, Huijsen’s centre back partner Illia Zabarnyi and Hungary left back Milos Kerkez are also attracting glances from elsewhere.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard those links, and we suspect it won’t be the last either.

Huijsen the right age but the wrong cost for Chelsea’s model

Chelsea fans have quite understandable become quickly tired of the way their team pursues young talents rather than proven players. But in this case, they might just make an exception. Huijsen may be just 19, but he looks so ridiculously good already, in his first season in the league, that turning him down on the basis that he’s too young or inexperienced would be madness.

The problem is much more likely to be Bournemouth’s demands – they’re in the driving seat here, having only just signed the Spain international last summer. If we want him, we’re going to have to pay serious, serious cash, and given our current PSR setup, that could prove difficult.

They paid €16m for him – we’d expect they want at least 5 times that now.
