Fabrizio Romano reveals fate of Jadon Sancho with Chelsea loan nearing an end

Jadon Sancho appears to be approaching a decision on which club he’d like to play for with his loan tenure at Chelsea coming to an end.
Having struggled to adapt to life at Manchester United followed by a falling out with former manager Erik ten Hag, Sancho was sent out on loan to Chelsea in the hope that he could rediscover his form at Stamford Bridge.
It has been a rocky tenure at Chelsea for Sancho, whose performances have swung from impressive to disappointing nearly week in and week out.
While a crucial part of Chelsea’s team in the 1-0 win over FC Copenhagen in the Conference League three days ago, Sancho produced a woeful performance in his team’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal yesterday.
To date, there has been no clear indication of whether Sancho will look to remain at Chelsea once his loan expires or return to Man United. That is until Fabrizio Romano had his say.
“It’s true that Chelsea can pay a fee to Manchester United and not proceed with the obligation to buy for Jadon Sancho,” Romano stated on his YouTube channel. “It’s the reality, but it’s not the intention.”
“From day one, Chelsea signed Sancho from Man Utd on loan with an obligation to buy because they want to keep Sancho, and Sancho wants to be at Chelsea.”
“So that’s the idea, and that’s the view, and obviously, Man Utd don’t want Sancho back. That’s the clear indication on Jadon Sancho,” Romano declared, all but confirming that Sancho’s time at United has come to an end.
According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea may pay United in the range of £22 million £25 million depending on where the London club finishes on the Premier League table this season.
Still, even if the final transfer fee happens to be on the lower end, United will surely be happy to part ways with a player who has simply never managed to integrate into the Old Trafford set up.
What’s more, Sancho’s fee will help to bolster United’s transfer budget ahead of what may be a busy summer transfer window.
With Marcus Rashford and Antony also out on loan, United manager Ruben Amorim appears to be looking to bring some new blood into the team. Earlier today, The Peoples Person noted that United are reportedly willing to fork out €70 million to purchase FC Barcelona winger Raphinha.
Whatever United choose to do in the transfer window, one thing is certain – Sancho has never managed to adjust to life at United and the sooner the club can offload him, the better.
