AC Milan fell to their third league defeat in a row and ninth in the table as they were beaten 2-1 by Lazio at San Siro on Sunday night.
When it rains, it pours for Milan at the moment. After battling back from a goal down and a man down to equalise late on through Samuel Chukwueze, a controversial penalty was awarded deep into added time which allowed Pedro to win it.
The Rossoneri have said goodbye to any hopes of being in the Champions League next season and perhaps goodbye to European football in general, unless they win the Coppa Italia which would gain a place in the Europa League.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport has their ratings from the game, starting with the team’s overall performance and Sergio Conceicao’s management, both of which earned a score of 5 out of 10.
Tijjani Reijnders was deemed the best performer for the Rossoneri, getting a 6.5, while Strahinja Pavlovic’s controversial red card means he got a 4.5.
Alex Jimenez and Theo Hernandez struggled in a very poor first half, with each receiving a 4.5. Mike Maignan, Yunus Musah and Santiago Gimenez were given a 5.
A 5.5 went to Christian Pulisic and Joao Felix, and a passing score was awarded to Matteo Gabbia, Youssouf Fofana, Rafael Leao and Kyle Walker. Samuel Chukwueze (6.5) joins Reijnders as the only one to be praised.
Corriere dello Sport agree that Jimenez (4) was the worst player on the field, also giving the same score to Musah who was hauled off before half-time.
Pavlovic got a 4.5, while Maignan, Gabbia, Theo, Pulisic and Gimenez were scored half a point more. Fofana, Reijnders and Leao received a 5.5, then Walker, Joao Felix and Thiaw a 6, plus Chukwueze a 6.5.
