Inter bagged a very important win away to Udinese. The Nerazzurri put in a good performance to win 3-2 thanks to a goal from Frattesi after only 43 seconds and a brace from Lautaro Martinez. The win over the Friuliani brings us various stats and interesting takeaways:

EL TORO’S MOMENTUM

El Toro is back and once again decisive. The Nerazzurri captain bagged a brace against the Friuliani: the first goal was fortuitous but a reflection of his strikers’ instincts whilst the second was a true rocket from outside the box. The Argentinian becomes the player to have bagged the second-highest number of multiple goal hauls away from home in the period since his Serie A debut in 2018/19: 10 times. In total, he has scored 105 goals in a Nerazzurri shirt and el Toro is now closing down on Mauro Icardi with 111 goals in the all-time top goalscorer rankings at the Club (seventh).

FRATTESI ON TOP

His goal in Udine last season was fundamental for the Second Star and yesterday we saw him at it once again. Davide Frattesi’s goal after just 43 seconds was the fastest goal in a Serie A game since 27 May 2023 when Romelu Lukaku scored for Inter after 40 seconds of the game against Atalanta. The Nerazzurri midfielder is making more and more important contributions to the side and consistency in attack: he has been involved in six goals in the last six games he started for Inter in Serie A with three goals and three assists.

THE THURAM FACTOR

It has been a positive season so far for Marcus Thuram. As well as having scored four goals this season, the Frenchman provided his fifth assist for Lautaro Martinez in Serie A against Udinese. The Nerazzurri number 9 is the forward who has provided the most assists to a single teammate since the start of last season.

SOMMER MAKES IT 50

Yann Sommer’s role in the squad is ever more crucial. The Swiss goalkeeper is in his second season with the Nerazzurri and picked up his 50th appearance for us in all competitions in the game against Udinese.
