Arsenal forward Alessia Russo has been named the Football Writers Association's Women's Player of the Year for the 2024/25 season.

She joins Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, who received the men's award, and the pair will be honoured at the annual dinner in London on May 22.

Russo has helped guide the Gunners to a historic UEFA Women's Champions League final, where they will face Barcelona in Lisbon on May 24.
