Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck feels that the Nerazzurri did well to perform well against Udinese after their loss to AC Milan in the derby.
The German reacted to the 3-2 in a press conference after the match, as reported by FCInterNews.
Inter had a lot of work to do to recover from the derby against Milan last weekend.
The Nerazzurri suffered their biggest setback of the season by far against the Rossoneri. It wasn’t just the result, nor was it the fact that it came against their rivals.
Inter were outplayed by Milan for long spell. They were almost lucky that the scoreline was only 2-1 in their derby rivals’ favour.
But Inter did not look like they’d let that result get under their skin with their performance against Udinese this evening.
On the contrary, the Nerazzurri had a bright start, scoring early through Davide Frattesi.
The two goals that Udinese scored were certainly some cause for worry. But they came from the only two good chances that the hosts had.
Inter managed to navigate a tough away fixture looking a lot more like the team they were for much of last season than the side that struggled against Milan last weekend.
Bisseck commented after this evening’s win that “It’s never easy after you lose a big match.”
“But I don’t think we should think about it too much,” the 23-year-old continued.
“We were angry. But we just got back to work and focused on that.”
“We wanted to come and win this match against Udinese,” Bisseck said.
“They were a tough opponent to come up against. We knew it wouldn’t be easy.”
Bisseck said that “We played a good match, especially in the first half.”
“We took home the three points to move forward, which is great.”
Of the dropoff in Inter’s defensive record compared to last season, Bisseck was candid. “I honestly think last season was so good, it wouldn’t be right to treat it as the norm,” he said.
“Because we were so exceptional last season.”
“Sometimes things just happen on the pitch,” said Bisseck. “Like for example the ball going through several legs on the second goal.”
