Good and bad news from the Feyenoord sick bay: Van Persie gets defensive reinforcements in Milan, but misses Paixão | OneFootball

The day before their Champions League return match against Inter, Robin van Persie’s Feyenoord have received good and bad news from the sickbay. Gernot Trauner and Facundo González are back, but Igor Paixão is missing.

Feyenoord reported this on X on Monday afternoon. While Paixão will remain at home due to a thigh injury, the freshly fit defensive duo will travel to Milan, where the team face the tough mission of undoing the 0-2 defeat from the first leg last week.

Trauner has been out of action for over a month and returns to reinforce the relatively inexperienced Jeyland Mitchell. The experienced Austrian played in De Klassieker match on 2 February, but has not been able to help the Rotterdam team since then.

González has been out since the second week of February with a back injury. Nothing is known yet about the seriousness of Paixão’s injury. Van Persie still had hopes for Inbeom Hwang and Antoni Milambo, but they will not make it to the match.
