French forward Antoine Griezmann is determined to continue at Atletico Madrid despite speculation over his future.

Diario AS reports that Griezmann’s representatives have held positive talks with Spanish giants about extending his association with Diego Simeone’s side.

The 34-year-old’s future at Wando Metropolitano Stadium has been unclear since he was linked with a move to Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC this summer.

Griezmann’s current deal expires in June 2026, but he could now be set for a contract extension after deciding to stay at Atletico.

The forward, who retired from international duty last year, will go down as one of the most prominent names in Atleticos’s history.

He is the club’s top scorer with 197 goals and ranks eighth for appearances with 431.

Griezmann has revived his career since rejoining Atletico in 2022 following a troubled stint at Barcelona.

He ended last season with 24 goals and eight assists in all competitions.

His form has suffered a dip over the last couple of months, with Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sorloth taking up the scoring duties.

Despite this, Griezmann’s experience and quality are integral to Simeone’s side, who are competing for La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

His trophy cabinet is stacked with major titles, including the Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup, FIFA World Cup and Nations League.

Success in La Liga and the Champions League keeps evading him, but he is eager to break his duck in both competitions.

Los Rojiblancos are currently third in the La Liga table, four points adrift of Real Madrid.
