Guidi explains why Milan Primavera ‘deserve to go to the play-offs’ after Lazio win | OneFootball

Milan Primavera head coach Federico Guidi was pleased with how his side played against Lazio, insisting they deserve a play-off spot.

The Primavera have had some rough results recently but they halted their bad run with a 2-0 win against Lazio away from home. Having gone without a victory since mid-March, the young Rossoneri picked up three crucial points.

Milan struck when it mattered most: in injury time at the end of the first half through Paloschi and then midway through the second half through Liberali. After 35 games the Primavera sit in seventh place on 55 points, one adrift of the play-off zone, with bottom-of-the-table Udinese to come next.

Guidi spoke after the game in the capital to give his thoughts on what was a very successful evening, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“The boys deserve to go to the play-offs because of the many games played well and with high-profile performances like today’s because we were facing a team with many players who had played against me in the Scudetto semi-final with Roma,” he said.

“So we are talking about a team that is ten years older than us. We played against a strong team, we put in a great performance like we have done others during the season. The boys have always surprised me in a positive way.

“Then it is clear that we have had some ups and downs also due to the fact that we are very young and therefore we can make mistakes.

“On the other hand, however, we must mature quickly to avoid making certain mistakes, we have been a bit inconsistent in the desire to get the result. Maybe now we would be in a better position in the standings”.
